Today's review is of the Dainty Dolly Blushes, both powder and cream. I bought two of each from Fragrance Direct where they're just £1.99 each rather than the RRP of £13.50 so if youre after these or any other products from the range then I advise getting them from there.
Both powder and cream blushes come in plain black packaging. Its a really simple design but the palletes are slim and fit in your make up bag or storage nicely. They're a matte black plastic which I am a bit worried will crack or break easily but so far, so good. Now on to the shades...
My Girl - Powder Blush, Dainty Dolly
This is the pink shade of the powder blushes. Its super light, yes but not as light as the lilac pigmented Hippy Shake shade which I've read reviews of and barely swatches. This is light but is buildable. Ive been applying this on spring make up days (tinted moisturiser, hardly any eye make up and this blusher plus a tinted lip balm). I really like this shade and when the package arrived this was the first one I wanted to try. I instantly loved it. It really suits my complexion and I am very happy with this purchase.
You Are My Sunshine - Powder Blush, Dainty Dolly
This is another powder blush but its a warmer coral shade. It had flicks of gold in it, which I am ussually weary of. Ill be honest, I was a little disappointed when this came as I avoid shimmery make up in general. After a few applications, however, I am more fond of this shade. I probably won't be running out of it too quickly as this isnt my first choice for a coral shade but with the great mirror in with it, it might make it into my make up more than I expect.
Billion Dollar Babies - Cream Blush, Dainty Dolly
This is the bronze shade of the cream blushes. This is really light and goes on well. I'll be honest I am just not good at applying cream blushes but the formula of these does seem to apply well. Ive been applying this with my fingers which seems to be improving (one day ill master cream blushes!). The colour of this is a really great bronzer for super pale ladies. I have serious problems trying to get a bronzer which doesn't make me look super orange or basically ridiculous Finally this one means I can contour and add warmth to my face without over loading it with orange tones.
Orange Country Girl - Cream Blush, Dainty Dolly
The coral shade of the cream blushes. Again this has a gold shimmer to it which disappointed me, but over all I was pleased with it. This is a great shade and formula for summer as the cream finish is more dewy and the coral shade is very bright. This makes a great highlighter/blush and I've been using it exactly as that, when I want a higher cheek bone and a lighter fresher finish.
Overall, I absolutely love My Girl and I can see my hitting pan on this and having to re-purchase it pretty soon. Im also getting more into the other shades and very eager to try some of the other make-up in the Dainty Dolly Range. What have you tried and what did you think?
