L'oreal Confetti top coat

L'oreal Confetti top coat

Hey guys, today I am reviewing the L'oreal Confetti top coat which is the ultimate illamasqua dupe for a speckled finish polish. Speckled nail polishes we're all over blogs in the run up to and ever since easter since illamasqua launched they're range of specked pastel polishes. Ive finally bought some nail wheels so you can see the colour, so I'm very excited to be reviewing another nail product for you. I was also dying to try out this top coat as just £4.95 for a topcoat I could apply to any polish seems a much healthier option to the £14 per polishes from illamasqua.

First things first, I love the L'oreal nail polish packaging  They are very slim and look lovely on a dresser or in a stand. I really want to buy a few more from the collection simply as they look so nice. The brush is lovely and the polish goes on really nicely. The speckles are lovely too. I really love how this looks on top of almost every nail polish. Below I've showed you how it looks on top of a variety of polishes, from the typical pastels to brights and neutrals. I personally love the pastels but also on top of the grey and brown colour too..but I think I'm still stuck in winter! They top coat also has a glittery shimmer which I'm not sure you can see in the photograph. Im not really keen on the glitter/shimmer but as it's barely noticeable, ill forgive L'oreal.

What I can not forgive L'oreal for is the staying powder of this. I've tried this over a range of polishes and it seems to chip really quickly. Maybe it's my application of it, the base coat or just the condition of my nails? Im not sure but even with a clear top coat on top of this, it appears to chip within a day or two (im being generous, it starts chipping within a few hours. Heartbreaking.)

Please let me know if you've also had this problem or if you have any tips? TELL ME WHAT IM DOING WRONG! seriously I love this top coat but it just hate me! And this really makes me sad as I had such high hopes for this product!

  1. I absolutely loves this actually, it's my favourite polish :)
But it DEFINITELY chips way to easy which is annoying!!!

  3. I wore this over a MUA polish and it lasted well - but I used a rimmel topcoat on top which probably helped.

    1. yeah it lasts better with an additional topcoat but it just angered me that a topcoat would need another topcoat!

  4. Big big fan of this polish. But I love all the different colours youve put it with. I love the third one in- the taupe-y colour. Ive found polish just chips on my nails anyways, so I kind of expect it. I think it might be to do with how much you use your hands really. I type all day long, so they catch. xx

    1. definitely but i dont chip easily normally. I dont do a manual job, dont type a lot and basically dont do a lot with my hands on a daily basis (makes me sound like i dont use my arms)
