Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Circles Concealer in Light - Maybelline
Hey guys, today I am reviewing a product that has been mentioned countless time in FOTD, get ready with me, youtube videos; The Lot. But i've never reviewed it, so here we go..
The Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Circles Concealer by Maybelline is a bit unique in the concealer world, I think at least, please let me know if this is a dupe for something! It has a screw top and a sponge. Each twist of the top forces more product on to the sponge. There some obvious issues with this from the start. Hygiene. There is no hygienic element to this product. You cant avoid double dipping, you cant use a brush (i guess you could, but it wouldn't really work) so instead you're forced to use the same sponge for the life of the product. I've had this one about a month, its just over a third down. Thats about 3 months of use before I throw it away, which is a little gross.
despite that, really how dirty are your under eyes? Mine are pretty clean. I cleanse, eye cream, primer, foundation before I get to this step, so really the sponge is just picking up some products, unless you top up throughout the say. Then it'll get oil and dirt from the air. so thats that. Sadly that element of this product isn't going to change. So either be okay with it or not. Im pretty much okay with it.
Now to the actual product. The concealer is liquid and is applied by dabbing it in with a sponge. This has a good level of pigmentation and also isn't too drying. I do struggle to cover all my under eyes with this alone. Over all a good effort but its better as a duo product, rather than on its own. For several weeks I was using this over some Benefit Fake Up to just cover the bottom of my circles, but then again no under eye concealer has ever been good enough to completely cover my extremely dark and concave dark circles.
So I'm still on the hunt for the perfect under eye concealer. It's not like I'm asking for much. I just want good coverage, not too dry, not too moist, doesn't crease or cake and around a tenner. You'd think I was asking for a miracle ;)
