NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

NYX is a new brand for me so when I moved to Glasgow I was excited to try it as they have a stand right in the centre of the city's boots store. I picked up rather a lot of items but the first few I'm going to review are the Soft Matte Lip Creams. Im a sucker for liquid lipsticks as you'll know from my recent Kylie Cosmetics Splurge. I picked up Istanbul, a light princess pink shade & Antwerp, a darker but still light pretty pink. On first impressions I love the packaging. Simple and classic, it wont really go out of style plus I love knowing what colour I'm picking up from the outside of a product - it's so much easier!

Both of these are slightly darker than the packaging, which is okay by me. The formula is thick, much like a cream rather than a liquid lipstick and these don't dry down as much as others I've tried. In fact I kissed Matt, who then kissed the cat and the cat had some Istanbul on his head. Lovely. So the colour may transfer but yet it didnt fade on my lips. These are just insanely pigmented and really do last a long time. Not as long as others, I did have to re-apply after meals and drinks but well worth the £5.50 price tag.

Do you like these shades? Would you try them?

  1. I love the NYX soft matte lip creams - much prefer them to the Lip Lingerie that everyone seems to bang on about! I recently picked up Zurich and it is the most perfect daytime colour. I would recommend you try that one - it looks a lot different on than it does on the barrel!
