Eyeshadow has never been my strongest make up skill. Then again, I am far from a make up artist and probably only really started buying a significant amount of make up and then brushes about four years ago. Recently Ive got back into work (see life update post) and decided to treat myself. I got a new Zoeva eyeshadow palette and some Spectrum Eyeshadow brushes to match. I figured I was a bit of a fraud if I didn't have decent brushes to test out my new palette. I looked at loads of different options and decided on the Spectrum 8 piece eye blending set from beauty bay as it looked like the most brushes for a reasonable price and they all looks like shapes I was familiar with and would know how to use.
Firstly lets touch on how beautiful these brushes are. They're pink, purple and blue. None of my other brushes are this beautiful in this way, a mermaids brush set almost and they looks so pretty on my dressing table. Not only are they pretty but theres so many brushes all in different shapes sizes and densities. The brushes included are:
A16 Precision Crease
B06 Tall Tapered Blender
B04 Small Angled Blender
A08 Medium Fluffy Shader
A07 Stubby Shader
A12 Fluffy Pencil
A13 Short Smudge
C06 Tulip Eye Contour
Ive been using the set for two weeks now. I've used all 8 brushes for different looks, from everyday to more dramatic looks. They have all been washes, dried and some of them used again. They have been used everyday. I've had no shedding and they look exactly the same. Lets just say these are well worth the upgrade if like me you've been using ebay dupes and the odd boots purchase.
For value for money they're great too as each one tends to retail for about £5 which would be £40 and at £30 for the set, its a bargain. What do you think of these brushes? Pretty or too much? I know i'll be looking at getting more of the brands brushes as some of my foundation brushes are about to bite the dust!
