Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara

Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara
I've been using the Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara for three whole months since I gifted it for the launch back in August. I was using another mascara at the time I don't like to waste mascara as it stays good for such a short period of time. For a bit of background I have relatively good lashes. Not short, not thin or think or super long but rather pale. Without mascara it looks like I have no lashes (and sadly I won't be doing before and after shots mostly due to stage fright and me writing this at 7pm in the depths of winter).

Mascara has always been one of those products where I didn't have a favourite. I'm happy to try new ones but mostly cause I have a lot of free samples from events or they're freebies in drug store promotions. To me theres not much difference between a £10 or a £50 mascara so IF I do need to buy a new one I dont splash out too far.

At £19.50 the Urban Decay Troublemaker is a mid-range product. Not as cheap as the brands in boots but not crazy expensive. For me buying any Urban Decay product is based on trust. I trust the brand to deliver products that do what they say and thankfully the Troublemaker mascara doesn't let me down (Well, I didn't try the sex proof claim but I'll leave that up to more controversial bloggers). I've gone all day wearing this, to the gym, I've even fallen asleep and its pretty much stayed put. Even with all the rain we've had in Glasgow over the past few months I've not looked like a panda. I have worn this every day for three whole months and now i'm saying my goodbyes..for now.

Length and volume wise this is good. I find these plastic brushes great for creating definition and length and the size and shape of this is good. I've not poked myself in the eye once. The formula is super black, doesn't clump and you can layer for more dramatic lashes too. I tend to not go too far on a day to day and this creates nicely separated lashes that dont look like I've half a tube of gunk on them - win! For a more evening or dramatic look I've layered this one or added more after work and its been fine; great even. On the christmas staff drinks I got asked what false lashes I was wearing which for me is something.

My only criticism is the packaging. Its a rainbow chrome type colour (I have no idea how to describe it as you can tell) and a thick plastic tube. I love it. Its nice to hold. Heavy enough it feels expensive but not too heavy or awkward in the hand. It's just impossible to photograph. This is one photo out of a hundred. No Joke.

As I've said before this has survived the gym, rain, tears and a lot of testing so Im happy to say this will go into my good pile. As far as my next mascara, I have 8 to choose from (no joke) so I won't be re-purchasing this just yet but for me its a good reliable mascara which is more than a lot of others can say.

I was lucky enough to be sent this product. All opinions are still my own.

  1. This looks gorgeous! I feel mad for thinking about spending £20 on a mascara but I just figured if you do it cost per wear and it only lasts 3 months that's still 20p per day!
