Products I buy over and over again

For me certain products can’t be replaced. I might try new things but time after time I go back to the same, usually cheap, trusty products. Nothing in this list is over the £24 mark and excluding one item, nothing is over £12.50.

Make up wise it’s always been Collection for me or Collection 2000 for us slightly older bloggers (I am 29 in a few months, help). The Lasting Perfection Concealer is an old old blogger cult product but this one hasn’t died a death. In fact, this product is probably the only real blogger product to still be doing the rounds years and years later. I first picked this up early high school so probably about 15 years ago - ouch. Its the best concealer I’ve ever used for a matte finish and high pigmentation. Use it for what you want, for me this is the best for covering spots and acne scars. I don’t use it under the eyes as its finish tends to dry my skin out under there but some people do. At less than £5 this is an absolute steal and a basic for anyone wearing make up regardless of your budget.

Talking about Collection…I also love their Fast Stroke eyeliner. Its very very black, very very wet and takes a bit of time to get the hand of but if like me you rarely go out without a thin black strip on the top of your lid then this is the gal for you. Again its under a fiver, lasts ages and you pretty much can’t go wrong. I’ve tried other types and maybe performance is marginally better but for the price to quality ration you really can’t go wrong with this one.

My last make up product is the NYX Born to Glow Primer. For lacklustre skin like mine this is a really good base. Pearlescent and sticky, make up clings to it like glue but not in a bad way. I find my make up lasts a super long time, looks fresh and dewy and never cakey when I use this stuff (unless I use a stick foundation but those just aren’t for me and my skin type). At £12.50 its the second most expensive item on this list but it lasts ages even when you use it everyday like I do.

Skincare is one I normally say to spend on but there are the odd things you can pick up to keep within a tight budget. For me the NSpa Deep Hydrating Facial Oil is great for when using a mixture of products. I use mine with Retinol, vitamin c...you name it. Its a great carrier oil I guess. It doesn’t do much except hydrate but at £8 a bottle this stuff lasts ages, doesn’t break me out or leave me looking greasy.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid is a must have for dry or dehydrated skin like mine. Unlike the previous products this is only my second bottle but I already have a third lined up. Or maybe this is my third..I can’t remember. But this hasn’t been in my skincare or make up rotation for years like everything else here. This is just £5.90 a bottle and it lasts a reasonably long time. I tend to use mine every morning and evening because honestly you could apply this every hour - its delightful. Its light and fresh and really helps all your other skincare do its job.

For cleansing its got to be the Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm. The most expensive thing on my list but at £24 this again doesn’t break the bank. This balm is my go to pretty much every night when I get home from work as a first cleanse. It takes everything off make up wise and leaves skin feeling clean but not stripped. I then follow up with a second cleanser but that switches out most days. I do occasionally switch to a hot cloth cleanser but when you get in after the gym and work and just want to jump in the shower this one shot step is pretty much always my go to.

What products do you buy over and over again? I'm always on the look out for a new tried and tested favourite!

  1. That primer sounds fab! I'm having serious staying power problems with my foundation at the moment, and although my latest buy must hold most of the blame I've never really had the patience for primers. So that's something I should investigate.
